Meet TWSC Contributor Faith Gor!

The second person I’d like to introduce to you is one of our weekly contributors Faith Gor who hails from Kenya. I first heard about Faith from a prominent woman named Mary Ang’awa, a former judge of the High Court of Kenya and one of the speakers at our Shero Runway Empowerment Conference in Nairobi in June 2019.

A few months after the conference, Lady Justice Ang’awa messaged me about a woman who had just shared her story at her church. She proceeded to give me her contact and I was ON IT! I contacted Faith and asked her to share her story on The Weight She Carries. She immediately agreed. We connected well during her interview and her strength amazed me. When we published her story in February 2020, the feedback was overwhelming. So many people were moved by her transparency and faith.

We stayed in touch, and when I decided to add healing journeys to our content, I asked Faith to be a contributor. She was reluctant at first but I felt impressed to keep asking. There was something I had seen in her that she that she needed time to see as well. So I waited patiently, checking in every so often. Eventually, she agreed and wrote her first column piece in March.

Her articles are a true gift to us, and as she opens up about her personal healing journey each week, I continue to be amazed at how God is using her to touch so many others. You can read all her articles here.

Here are some interesting things about Faith:

1. What did you dream of becoming as a kid?

A travelling missionary.

2. Tell us the worst trouble you got into as a child.

Wow! It was 1st April and my brothers asked me if I wanted new slippers and when I said yes, and this is what they asked me to do:

Brother A: Go and tell Dad to give you KES 150. You show him something, and when he gives you, tell him, ‘Hahaha…thank you very much, today is April fools day!’
Me: (Went and told my dad exactly what I was told.) Lol and immediately my dad rebuked me and read me John 8:44. Since then, every time I’m tempted to lie that verse comes to mind lol. I was so embarrassed, I faced him differently after that incident I was so ashamed of myself.
