I have always been a particular kind of girl. For the greater part of my life, my preference was the only beauty I knew. Everyone else’s taste failed to impress me. I guess we have all felt this way at one point or another. It seems easier to hold on to what we find appealing than it is to embrace something else simply because someone else says so.
Many of us are stuck in our own zones because we feel we are better than the next person. The world has set rating systems to determine who is better than the other and who should be respected more based on our different capabilities. So in the end, we become experts at comparing ourselves with each other.
[ctt template=”8″ link=”n7x43″ via=”no” ]I don’t think our differences are the problem – differences are actually good. The problem usually arises when our differences become obstacles to progress and greatness.[/ctt]
As long as we choose to focus on our differences instead of the possibility of uniting forces, we will probably never reach our full potential. And all we are really doing is undermining the power of our differences.
A rainbow always captivates me with all its different colors. I always wonder how it would look like if it was made up of just one color. When I look at it, I can barely see the different colors and I cannot pick one color over the other, all I see is beauty.
Imagine how much more we could achieve if we decided to find common ground and combine forces. The fact is we are way better together than apart.
