This picture doesn’t quite capture how magnificently tall this tree is. What started out as a seed has now become a towering tree that shows no signs of slowing down. There’s another little tree like it in the yard. It is about my height and I cannot picture it growing to the immense height of the tall tree. Yet, it has shown remarkable progress as well. After all, it is much bigger than what it started out as.
It’s quite similar to dreams. What was once an elusive dream or a fragment of an idea can grow into a successful organization, book, medical discovery, family, etc. Resist the temptation to compare yourself to the taller trees around you. Your journey is your own. Trust the process. Look how far you’ve come already.
If you are the tall tree, rejoice in your success. Remember that you also have a great opportunity to inspire and mentor the smaller trees. After all, you all started out as seeds.
