We often give God a timeframe, and our prayer requests come with specific expectations about when and how they should be answered. Yet, it is humbling to surrender and recognize that, ultimately, we can make plans, but it is the Lord’s Will that prevails.
I wrote a piece for this blog back in 2021, sharing my long-winded journey to motherhood. At the time, I had no clue if I would ever hold a baby in my arms — but God is faithful. In His own time.
Fast forward to 2024, when my son was born. The moment I held him in my arms, I was in awe of God. He is a God of the impossible — a God who is merciful and whose Word stands strong, even when my own faith felt shipwrecked.

I wish I could say I was the perfect Christian, quoting Scripture at every turn, but that would be far from the truth. Tears were shed; hope grew dim. Nine years into marriage, and I was still waiting. However, through the power of the Holy Spirit — not my own — a strength I never knew existed carried me forward and encouraged me not to give up.
God renewed my strength when I was weary. All credit goes to Him, for I am nothing without Him.

As I reflect and connect the dots, I know without a shadow of doubt that His plan was laid out long before I understood it. Early in my marriage, a pastor provided counsel to me and my husband. He shared how he and his wife waited ten years to have a child. At that time, he was now blessed with two beautiful boys.
Through his vulnerability, we connected, and I remember thinking:
“Woof, Lord — ten years is a bit much. Please, may that not be us.”
However, God had other plans. Two weeks before our tenth anniversary, our son was born — a perfect, bright-eyed boy who has brought us immense joy. We are forever grateful to Almighty God.
My testimony is bigger than me — it’s about God and His power to lift anyone out of the miry clay. His power knows no bounds. Seemingly hopeless situations are His specialty. I pray to grow better and wiser so I can grasp the magnitude of His might.
May whoever reads this be encouraged in knowing who God is. He will turn your situation around for good, and what the enemy intended for destruction will be transformed into victory.
God gave Sarah a child in her old age.
He promises to meet us at our point of need.
He remains good even when we struggle to believe in His goodness.
He forgives even when we fail Him.
God doesn’t ask us to be perfect — whether your faith feels shipwrecked or steadfast, He says, “Come as you are.” He is a loving Father who whispers hope into weary hearts, saying, “I will meet you at your point of need.”

All glory and honor belong to Him — He creates paths in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
Though your vision and desires may tarry, do not despair. God says it will come, in accordance with His Will. In the end, it will speak and not lie. The vision will surely come — wait for it. (Habakkuk 2:3)
