In 2015, Awah Francisca Mbuli was trafficked to Kuwait. After months of domestic servitude and various abuses, she managed to escape and eventually returned to Cameroon. She shared her story with us in 2018 which you can read here.
Today her organization, Survivors’ Network Cameroon, has helped guide the escape of over 2,000 women and girls. I talk to her about her humanitarian work. In addition to rescuing trafficked people, her organization provides a safe home for many internally displaced women and children in Cameroon. There is so much to admire about Awah. She is selfless and has opened up her own home to 10 children who otherwise would not have a place to stay. She is truly an inspiration.
