Progress is Progress

There are times when things are not as straightforward as we think they should be. When expected results aren’t achieved, an explanation doesn’t seem good enough. Don’t blame yourself. If you can see some progress then it is worth celebrating. And there is no need for you to be apologetic about it.

[ctt template=”8″ link=”6qSdX” via=”no” ]There is always someone tracking your progress whether you have asked for their help or not. By virtue of them watching your efforts, they automatically become willing participants, but the amount of power you give them is entirely up to you.[/ctt]

It’s one thing to listen to what people say, and another thing entirely to let what they think of you determine your steps. Let them talk, but stick to being you.

It is generally easier to celebrate visible or tangible results and not everyone is patient enough to follow through the whole process with you. All they want to see it the end product, which you told them you are aiming for. What happens in between barely matters to them. This is a process, you are not yet where you are supposed to be, but where you are today matters.

The greatest mistake you can ever make is suppressing yourself just because everyone around you suggests it. Besides the goal you have set for yourself, the other source of motivation you have is your current efforts and whether they are working or not. Progress, no matter how small, is worth celebrating.

You will not get to your goal by skipping these phases so you might as well celebrate them now as they are leading you to your destination. Progress is progress. Celebrate it and make it your source of motivation.
